Life-Saving Cardiac Care by Dr. Suhas Hardas: A Grateful Patient’s Real Story

At Hardas Heart Care, we often say that trust, timely diagnosis, and compassionate care are at the core of our treatment philosophy. Nothing reflects that better than the real stories shared by our patients.

Recently, Dr. Suhas Hardas received a deeply moving letter from Mr. Ashok Vasandani, a patient whose life was saved following a timely and expertly handled angioplasty at Ruby Hall Clinic on April 9, 2025. His words beautifully highlight not only Dr. Hardas’s clinical acumen but also the warmth, empathy, and reassurance that patients feel under his care.

With permission from Mr. Vasandani, we are sharing his letter in full — a powerful reminder of how experience and humanity go hand in hand in cardiac care.

Dear Dr. Suhas Hardas,
HARE KRISHNA

This is Ashok Vasandani, whose life you saved on 9th April 2025.

Thank you is too small a word to express our Gratitude to You. My wife and I would rather cherish these memories throughout our lives.

You must have saved many lives in your Golden Career.

In our case, in addition to saving my life, equally glorious was “How, You saved my life”.

It was on 8th April 2025, that we visited your Heart Care Center. After ECG and 2D-Echo, You called us for consultation into your room. The crux of the discussion went as under:

You : “Everything seems alright. Let us do an Angiography to rule out any issues. I can do it tomorrow morning itself.” Simultaneously looking at my old reports, you commented, “Earlier also we had done Angiography for you, that was in 2021. Being 4 years earlier, that report is no longer valid.”

My wife: “Can we do it later? We have some important meeting on 11th for which we need to travel back to Mumbai on 10th April 2025”

Your spontaneous smiling response: “Don’t worry, tomorrow is only 9th April, I will discharge him by 1.00 pm after Angiography, so that you can travel to Mumbai as scheduled and attend to your meeting on 11th.”

My wife: “But suppose something comes out in Angiography, then what?”

Again spontaneous response from You: “Dont worry, in that case also, I will discharge by 1.00 pm on 9th itself”

With a feeling of comfort, I got admitted in Ruby Hall Clinic early in the morning on 9th April. Preparations were done by medical staff and You started Angiography.

After a few minutes in the procedure, You announced to me, “one of your arteries is blocked 99%, we will have to do Angioplasty. Don’t worry, before proceeding, I will talk to your wife and Dr. Dalal (who, being a close friend, was present throughout the procedure)”. After another few minutes You came over and told me, “Everything successfully accomplished, Congratulations”

I was totally zapped with such a quick turn of events, that I couldn’t even express my gratitude to You. That is why this mail.

What is amazingly classic in the whole process – that you knew from the very beginning (that is the day we consulted you on 8th April), what is my condition and what kind of danger I was up against. But to keep our comfort levels, Your words were, “Don’t worry. Nothing is wrong, we just want to rule out any possibilities. I will discharge you by 1.00 pm on the same day.”

WOW !! What a Caring person we have in You, Dr. Suhas Hardas, apart from being a super successful Cardiologist. A very rare Combination.

That is why, I said in the beginning itself, that Thanking You for our gratitude is too small an expression. My wife and I will cherish Your memories throughout our lives.

Please do pass on our gratitude to Dr. Nilesh Sawant and Dr. Satish Sawant also, who make an equally Caring team of Cardiologists with you.

May KRISHNA be with You, Your Team and Your Family, always.

With Best Regards,
Rita & Ashok Vasandani
